First glimpse at the actual S4 mold
This morning our mold makers sent us these photos of the top part of the cast aluminum rotational mold for the Wavewalk® Series 4 (S4).
Next part they’ll cast in aluminum is the bottom of the mold.
After that, the two parts will be polished and finished, and mounted in a steel frame that will enable attaching the mold to the rotational molding machine.
The last step before the mold is ready for boat production is coating its inside with Teflon.
The first image (front view) shows a slight difference in the parting line between the top and the bottom of the mold, compared to our initial design. This change will enable our rotational molders to place the W logo higher than we’ve shown in the preliminary images and video that we produced. We’re happy about this opportunity to make our logo more visible.
Overall, we’re on schedule for starting production in April.
Nature Coast Kayak Fishers Club recruiting new members

Nature Coast Kayak Fishers Club
Our retirement community of about 2,300 people in Citrus Hills, Florida held its annual Activity Club Showcase yesterday where leaders of the many clubs and activities offered were provided tables on which to display handouts and other club materials. I drafted a handout on the Kayak Fishing Club I established last year and made it available along with other materials highlighting the fishery along Florida’s Nature Coast. I included handouts and pictures describing and depicting the Wavewalk, and answered questions about the sport and fishing kayak types.
While most of the old fogies attending congregated around the poker and bridge club tables, a few of the more adventurous ones stopped by expressing interest in the club. I offered “show-me” outings to a couple who wished to give my Wavewalk a try.
All in all, it was a good three hours spent. Hopefully, it will result in a few more club members.

Two tandem crews fishing the mangrove tunnels in their Wavewalk 700 kayaks

On Friday afternoon, I got a call to rent kayaks from some folks who had been skunked bridge fishing.
I was just heading out to my most secluded spot far up in the mangroves as the wind and tide were perfect. So, I shared my hot spot with them. They caught a bucket of fish and had a great time negotiating through the mangrove tunnels.
I am better at fishing than filming.
