S4 mold update

The S4 tooling (cast aluminum rotational mold) arrived to the molding plant early last week.
Out molders opened it and inspected it, and concluded that (quote) “it’s a beautiful mold”  ๐Ÿ™‚
We think so too, but the difference is that they’re in place and they know what they’re talking about ๐Ÿ˜€

They want to add a couple of things to the tooling in order to meet our special technical requirements, and hopefully they’ll start producing boats later this week.
They apologized for the slow pace of getting the S4 into a production mode, but they are very busy people, and we’re happy for them, because they are also very nice people who do a great job for us molding our boats that very few others could.

We’re getting many inquiries about the S4, including compliments ๐Ÿ™‚
So… we’ll have to try and keep being patient.
Nah, it’s impossible for a guy like me! I can’t wait to see the first S4 boats coming out of this tooling, and start shooting videos with the unit that we’ll get here.

And last but not least, we apologize to our S4 clients for this delay. You guys must be very impatient too!  ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Chris,

It would be interesting to see how many duck decoys you could store in this boat…
My back-of-the-envelope calculation points to some 56 units ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  2. You can store a few more than the W700 in the cockpit but then you could also strap a bag on the conveniently located dog platform on the front! lol

    We will see soon!

  3. “Dog platform”?… ๐Ÿ˜€
The official name for this part of the boat is Stand Up Casting Platform (capital letters not required ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
BTW, it would be super easy to extend this platform to cover the front part of the cockpit: Think 3/8″ plywood tucked below the coaming, and painted with a matching color.
Such a long front deck would give the S4 a Powerboat look, or PT Boat look, depending on one’s source of reference…
Anyways, with such a huge deck, you could carry even more decoys on board. And a dog… ๐Ÿ˜€

  4. OK, so here’s the latest S4 news: Today (Wednesday) we got an update from our molders who are planning to mount the S4 tooling on their XL machine coming Friday, and start producing S4 boats!!…
