Motorized W700 Bass Fishing Trip in Rainbow Reservoir, Connecticut

By Rox Davis

I took the W700 to Rainbow res in Windsor Ct.

I wanted to really run the one of the motors for a good test.

Of course I had to fish too.

I got a great shot of this gray heron flying by me.

My next outing I’ll be testing another motor, and of course some more fishing.

Here’s a couple of pictures of the yak trip, then the next day I went out in my buddies bass boat and caught my Biggest Large Mouth Bass this season, 5.3lbs of fighting fury. 🙂

Funny thing, I ran into Gary Rankel’s fishing buddy (I think his name was Art) at the boat launch when I was leaving.
I was stunned to say the least, up from Florida with friends.
Small world. 🙂

  1. Thanks Rox!

I met with Art Myjak a couple of times, when he came to Massachusetts to visit his family. He has contributed articles and many photos to this blog.
I’m glad to hear that you two met each other 🙂

  2. Awesome fish, Rox. I miss my days fishing for smallies on the Oconto River in Wisconsin waiting for the next mayfly hatch when the water would come alive.

Wow, looks like half of that W extends beyond your pickup bed. My 700 doesn’t stick out quite that far, and I don’t worry about it falling off. I may need to get some reflective material to hang on the back, however.

Glad you ran into Art. He’s struggled since his stroke a couple of year ago, but still is as eager as ever to get out on his W. He should be about ready to head south for the winter.

Best of luck with your new toy.
