4 lbs large mouth bass with lots of salad

By Robbie Cairl

Here is an interesting photo from this summer. My friend was panicking because I said I am releasing the fish if he takes a picture or not. He somehow had it in panoramic mode which caused the odd double exposure. A nice 4 lb large mouth with a huge side of salad as you can see!

I got a small, 30 lb thrust electric trolling motor and crudely attached it to my W500. I only used it twice and now wish I had gotten a slightly more powerful motor. It really didn’t do the job against a steady Connecticut River current, I will guess 2 knots. However it handles great and pushes me about twice as fast as my friends paddling their yaks.

Now the new S4 video is amazing! Some day I will bite the bullet and get a gas powered motor. My friend has a 2 horse on his jon boat, and not only does it fly it is so quiet you needn’t raise your voice to converse while running full speed. I still want the exercise I get from paddling though so the motor is just for getting me longer distances.

My oldest granddaughter will be 3 this summer and I am dying to get her on the water!

Motorized Wavewalk 500 bass fishing trip

By Rox Davis

Took the W500 out yesterday for the first time since I’ve gotten the W700.
I Didn’t have the truck, so the Kia was it.

It was a windy day, water temps still at 67 degrees.
Lots of small fish, then a couple of good Large Mouths to save the day.

I made a video, and you will laugh when you hear what happens.

Tight Lines and MoPaddle Safe all.

Motorized W700 Bass Fishing Trip in Rainbow Reservoir, Connecticut

By Rox Davis

I took the W700 to Rainbow res in Windsor Ct.

I wanted to really run the one of the motors for a good test.

Of course I had to fish too.

I got a great shot of this gray heron flying by me.

My next outing I’ll be testing another motor, and of course some more fishing.

Here’s a couple of pictures of the yak trip, then the next day I went out in my buddies bass boat and caught my Biggest Large Mouth Bass this season, 5.3lbs of fighting fury. 🙂

Funny thing, I ran into Gary Rankel’s fishing buddy (I think his name was Art) at the boat launch when I was leaving.
I was stunned to say the least, up from Florida with friends.
Small world. 🙂

Trifecta – Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Northern Pike, while exploring new water

By John Fabina

I decided to explore new water on the Fox River today.
It was possible to launch the Wavewalk at a bridge where only a kayak could be launched. I wouldn’t attempt to launch here with a conventional kayak……..it would be easy to flip. It was a relaxing and fun day. I caught the trifecta , Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Northern Pike.
The bass were caught on a jointed Rapala and the pike on a Wacky worm.
As always hit the bridges for the current breaks and fish any inlets that dig out holes.
