Motor Mount For Kayak Electric Trolling Motor, By Gary Thorberg, Minnesota

Here is how Gary mounted an electric trolling motor on his W500 fishing kayak: Clamp-on motor mount – Quick and easy. Gary chose to make this motor mount from Oak wood.Electric trolling motor mounted on the W500 kayak. The motor is mounted on one side of the kayak, and the battery is placed at the bottom of the opposite hull. This balances the kayak without reducing its stability. Electric trolling motor setup – General view: With this propeller shaft length, Gary can troll both seated and standing up. New, Sand Color For W Kayaks

This new, Sand color for our W kayaks blends well with certain environments, and can serve as a good background for various camo patterns. For additional camouflage work on your W kayak, we recommend using a spray paint named Krylon Fusion, which seems to stick to Polyethylene surfaces better than other paint does. Boyd’s W Kayak Transportation Wheels – Ontario, Canada

Boyd and Sandy Smith, from Ontario, Canada, use their W500 kayak extensively, and needed a solution for transporting it to the water and back from it.
Boyd salvaged a pair of wheels from an broken golf cart, got some 2×2 wood and $10 of hardware, and created his version of kayak trolley, which serves the purpose perfectly. Continue reading
