Trifecta – Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Northern Pike, while exploring new water

By John Fabina

I decided to explore new water on the Fox River today.
It was possible to launch the Wavewalk at a bridge where only a kayak could be launched. I wouldn’t attempt to launch here with a conventional kayak……..it would be easy to flip. It was a relaxing and fun day. I caught the trifecta , Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Northern Pike.
The bass were caught on a jointed Rapala and the pike on a Wacky worm.
As always hit the bridges for the current breaks and fish any inlets that dig out holes.

Catfish on the Fox River – My first fish caught as a retiree

By John Fabina

Happy Memorial day, hope all is well.
Pics from today –

My first fish caught as a retiree. Catfish on the Fox River.

A beautiful day here in Wisconsin. A day to reflect and give thanks to the Vets that gave all so we can enjoy the freedom that this country offers.

Fox river bass fishing trip

By John Fabina

I went to the Fox River today to do some fishing. I caught a nice Largemouth Bass. Always plenty of bird life along the river and I was able to sneak up on a couple of deer that came down for a drink.

Bass fishing and shooting photos in my own slice of heaven, by John Fabina

I took my camera and fishing rods and headed to the Fox river, again.

I had some good action today. A couple of small pike where the Mukwonago River joins the Fox River.

It is a challenge to land Largemouth bass when using a frog. These fish know how to use the river current, weeds, and submerged branches to escape your hooks.
I lost so many nice fish today but it is still such an exciting way to fish.

Had the whole place to myself today. Peacefulness so close to an urban area. My own slice of heaven. Having a Wavewalk makes it so easy to enjoy. Less then five minutes of load time and you can hit the road and find your relaxing journey.

Just floating down the Fox river with my camera, by John Fabina

I took the camera out today and just floated down the river.
It was so peaceful and relaxing. I was amazed how some of the birds pictured could walk on the “green ” water that just had a slight “clover” like coverage.
I caught a critter under a bridge sneaking along.
