Eric, from Walk on Waves, our distributor of fishing kayaks in Norway and Sweden, sold a W500 about a week ago.
Why would I mention this small news? Because Norway’s latitude is pretty much the same as Alaska’s, and there’s no navigable water to be found there this time of year, unless you want to venture in a part of the Atlantic Ocean known as the North Sea, which isn’t recommended…
Being situated that far North also means that spring starts later in Norway, even in comparison to cold regions such as the Northeast and Northwest, here in the US.
This is to say that Norwegian kayakers and anglers need to be more patient…

So why would a Norwegian paddler or angler buy a W kayak now, in January or early February?
Assuming W kayakers are sensible, and they don’t take a kayak in the ocean and fish in in extremely cold temperatures, the answer would be that it has to do with either some complex rigging projects, and/or simply Hope – That person wants to sit at home, look at their W fishing kayak, and imagine all the great, fun things they’d do with it as soon as the snow stops falling, and the ice on the rivers and lakes melts; The fishing trips, the rigging, maybe camping, or hunting?

Hope, Patience, and Imagination – and the Love of Boating, Paddling, and Fishing.
These are things that are easy to understand and relate to!

Fishing for bass has been Wayne’s passion for decades.
However, fishing out of an ordinary fishing kayak was out of the question for him, as it would be for most anglers. Several years ago, when he was 68 years old, he got himself an early W300 model, and outfitted it with a pair of rowing oars – He needed the extra precision in positioning his kayak for casting, and for reeling in the big ones.

Back then, the stabler W500 series was merely at an early research and development stage at Wavewalk.
Having a somehow impaired sense of balance, coupled with a talent for design and craftsmanship, Wayne created a pair of DIY outriggers to fit his his W300 kayak.

Wayne recently wrote us: -”I haven’t made any more modifications to my Wavewalk. It’s set up perfect for me.”

Three years ago, Wayne sent us this video showing him rowing his W300 kayak with deadly precision, from a fish’ standpoint (or should we say ‘swim point’?…).

I have been meaning to send you these awhile ago, the w500 has exceeded my expectations in so many ways! Thank you for all that you did to take care of the first one that was lost in shipping.
The two attached photos were from the second time I had it on the water. The first time was as soon as I had taken it out of the box I ran to a small pond around the corner of my house.
As you can see I went a little overboard,
She is named “My Lil Cory” after my best friend and wife.
I have a total of 7 rod holders for regular sized rods, 1 fly rod holder, one ultra light holder, a Humming bird 597 CI/HD/DI GPS unit, skid tape on the bottom, & a anchor trolly with a stake out stick.
I plan on adding lights to it so I can do some night fishing.
Thanks again for making an outstanding fishing kayak!
Best regards,
Mike Hewczuk
