Captain Shiley – The World’s Youngest Kayaker, Massachusetts

Meet Captain Shiley, the two year old commander of a W500 kayak navigating the mighty lake Massapoag (meaning ‘Great Waters’). Captain Shiley tells the crew -”Let’s go here!”, and then -”Let’s go there!”, and sometimes they obey her orders… Although she’s the boss, commanding a crew of 1-2 paddlers, Captain Shiley doesn’t hesitate to grab a paddle, and paddle like everybody else on board. The Best Fishing Kayak For Children

Undoubtedly, kids love the W500 (not that they didn’t like its predecessor, the W300…)
Whether they go in it with a parent, a grandparent, or friend or a sibling – they always have a lot of fun!
Kids can go in a W500 not only in tandem but sometimes in a crew of three, and that may include an adult… A pretty good deal without any doubt, until they discover they can paddle without adult supervision, and create their little, floating, adult free zone :)
Kids love to paddle standing, and doing it in a W500 is a no brainer, not just because it’s the world’s most stable kayak, but also due to the fact that it’s quite narrow (28.5″), which makes it easier for kids to paddle although they are shorter than adults, and their arms are shorter too.
