Father and Son Kayak Fishing and Camping Trip Report, Norway and Sweden
Then it was time to go fishing with my son, Ivar.
After all the positive things that I told him about Wavewalk fishing kayaks, he was very curious. Then there was a 4 day trip on Foxen / Le Stora in Sweden.
We had a nice camp on a small island, where we went out with our kayaks.
There were a lot of fish, we shared the pike, and then I got a bream on the hook, which is pretty rare.
We saw the beaver and osprey, and many other bird species. We spent many hours in the kayak, up to eight hours a day. I had never been able to fish that long from any canoe or kayak.
It wasn’t enough for Ivar just to sit in Wavewalk, and he tried a number of positions while he fished. Being able to stand and fish from his Wavewalk kayak seemed like a great advantage to Ivar. Continue reading

Dutch Master Paddler Arij van der Kooij Tests the W500 Kayak (Canoe?…)
By Robert Borrenbergs, Catamayak – Wavewalk Kayaks’ dealer in Holland.
Arij van der Kooij is a well known name among paddlers in Holland, and one of the country’s expert canoeists. Arij is the founder of the large outdoor company Valley Outdoor (formerly Tiekano) in Bergschenhoek, which imported to Holland some of the best known canoe brands. After selling his company, he is now busy with his canoeing school named Herbie Bird, and his website solokano.nl Continue reading

“Too Much Storage In This Fishing Kayak”
Once in a while, working in the kayak business brings about a little, silly joy that I feel like sharing with others… ![]()
The latest of these anecdotes was emailed to me by Gary Johnson, from Texas:
Gary was having an argument with other kayak anglers, some of which are presumably kayak dealers, sales reps, etc., on an online, Texas fishing forum, and one of those other participants commented about the W500 that “It had too much storage for a fishing kayak”.
That’s right: -”Too much storage for a fishing kayak”. Continue reading
