Finally got around to taking some pics of how I decorate my “W” for duck season.
I “grass” it out using natural materials such as palm leaves and natural grasses. I can carry a dozen or more of full body Herters Goose and duck decoys. At 59lbs the W kayak is a lot more convenient than my Barnegat Bay Sneakbox, and allows me to hide remarkably well.
I also have sold my Bass Tracker Tournament Fishing Boat and use the “W” to do all my fishing now. With the “W” I don’t have the room I’m used to, but I find every trip more enjoyable than the other boats I’ve had. It is a great addition to my hunting and fishing arsenal, and allows me to get in places I couldn’t with the bigger boats. Just Awesome.

As expected the Wavewalks performed great and proved to be a great duck hunting machine.
It managed to hold the decoys, guns, and all the gear we needed for our hunting excursion.
We could shoot from the water safely or easily pull the W’s on shore for extra camouflage.
We were only missing one thing……the ducks cooperation! We only saw six ducks flying this morning.
Hope to try this again sometime this season, will keep you posted. For the record, I would have never tried this in my old conventional type kayak.

We thought how we’d like to celebrate this event, and decided to come up with a third standard color, in addition to the yellow and green we’ve been offering since we rolled out our first W300 kayaks, back in April of 2004.
After much deliberation with our distributors overseas, our US dealers, and a group of trusted advisers, starting today we’re offering a new color for our W kayaks that we call ‘Sand’.
Verbal description: A full-bodied, neutral to warm beige.
Hexadecimal color #875a2d , rgb(135,90,45) note the 3:2:1 ratio between the channel values
This is how the new color looks like on a computer screen:

The white and black dots merely serve as visual reference.
Note: Different screens show colors differently, due to multiple reasons, including individual setup.
Also, colors of plastic objects are not defined in hexadecimal or RGB numbers.
Therefore, please remember that the actual sand color W kayak you’ll receive may have a color that’s slightly different from what you saw on your computer screen.
The same is true for the two other colors we offer.

This new, Sand color for our W kayaks blends well with certain environments, and can serve as a good background for various camo patterns. For additional camouflage work on your W kayak, we recommend using a spray paint named Krylon Fusion, which seems to stick to Polyethylene surfaces better than other paint does. This paint gets easily scratched easily, but it’s easy to repair the damage.
