Anchor trolley for my Wavewalk 500 fishing kayak

anchor trolley for Wavewalk 500 fishing kayak

By Gary Rankel

I don’t normally like anchoring while fishing, much preferring the paddle-cast-paddle-cast technique. However, I’ll be fishing in a few tournaments this year in areas where anchoring for brief periods might be more productive.

So, I decided to install one of the readily available anchor trolley systems on one of my W500’s (the one from Yakgear) as well as an anchor pin. Installation instructions were easy to follow, and it works well. I prefer using the easy to deploy pin, but. of course, it won’t work on rocky bottoms, so I’ll also carry a small claw anchor along as well. None of the assembly gets in the way of paddling.

Nice, you’ll like that pole, especially if the winds kick up.

Good luck in the upcoming tourneys!

Tight Lines and MoPaddle safe all.
