  1. Imagine this big and heavy thing swinging in an oven as high as a two story building!

2017 will be the second full season for the W700, which came out in the fall of 2015, and the first season for the S4…
In essence, we’ve grown from one product line in 2015 to three lines in 2017.
The latest products are very exciting, since they add both extreme versatility and high performance to kayaks and small boats.

  2. Our mold makers are repairing a few imperfections in the mold’s inner surface that they found after they polished it.
Such issues are pretty common in aluminum castings of such large size.
Typically, these small imperfections are caused by tiny bubbles of gas trapped in the molten aluminum. Being so small, sometimes it’s possible to detect such imperfections only after the surface was polished and it reflects light to the maximum.

As far as our schedule is concerned, this means the mold makers have delayed sending the mold for Teflon coating by a few days.

  3. Our mold makers took care of those tiny surface imperfections, and they’re sending the mold to the Teflon coating facility today. Yay!!

  4. The S4 mold is scheduled to get back from Teflon coating to the mold makers on Thursday.
Then, on Friday, it will ship to its final destination, namely where our kayaks and boats are produced.
If everything goes according to plan, we could see photos the first S4 boats by the end of next week, or early in the week after.

    We are very excited! 🙂
