The W700 Heavy Duty (HD) Transom Motor Mount (TMM) fits 20″ long (L) outboard motor shafts.
IMPORTANT: We recommend using 20″ (long) shaft motors, since they can be mounted at the rear end of the cockpit, and not a few inches behind it. When the motor is closer to you, it’s easier for you to start it and access its controls, and it makes steering easier. Only 20″ long (L) outboard motors fit outboard manufacturers’ requirements for the depth of the anti-ventilation plate below the boat’s lowest point. Do not use 15″ short (S) outboard motors with this motor mount.

Design, Materials, and Construction
In order to provide this motor mount with extra strength, we use a ‘caisson’ design in combination with the traditional tab-and-slot technique.
The TMM 700 HD is made from 3/4″ thick Medium Density Overlay (MDO), and coated with urethane.
MDO is a composite product made from wood and polymer resin (plastic). We’ve been using MDO successfully since 2012 in saddle brackets, and since 2014 in motor mounts.
The bolts, washers and nuts used in this motor mount are made from zinc plated steel.
The parts from which the TMM 700 HD is made are cut with a computerized router for maximal precision, best fit, and optimal strength.
Each part is individually coated with urethane, in order to waterproof it.
We assemble each W700 HD motor mount by hand, using waterproof adhesive.

Installation is easy and should take less than five minutes:
Where to install?
The rear end of the cockpit is where the Heavy Duty (HD) Medium Density Overlay (MDO) bracket a.k.a. “Wooden Bracket” is installed.
Every W700 comes with such a bracket, standard.
Position the TMM 700 HD motor mount on the hull tips, exactly where you want to attach it – The closer to the cockpit’s rear the better.
Mark the two spots where you need to drill holes for the eye bolts, and drill them with a 3/8″ drill bit.
Attach the motor mount very tightly using the wooden knobs, and make sure they are positioned with the tee nuts facing down.
Tip: Using a 5/16″ nut to help lock the the wooden knob in place can reduce the need to check its tightness, although we recommend to keep checking it.
Safety and Operation
Before going on a motorized trip, verify that the wide wooden bolt knobs that secure the motor mount to the boat are safely tightened to the maximum. Failing to tighten the bolt knobs could result in unwanted vibrations and noise. If you feel such unusual vibrations and/or hear unusual noise, stop the motor, turn around, and tighten the bolt knobs to the max.
Driving with loose bolt knobs is hazardous, similarly to driving with the motor’s clamp screws loose, and it could result in an accident.
Do not operate the motor without the motor’s stop switch (“kill-switch”) attached to your arm.
For motor operation and maintenance please refer to the motor’s owner’s manual.
