Fish Species Quiz, By Gary Rankel

Had a non-stop catching day at Ozello today with 7 pictured species landed including 2 barracuda (a real rarity around here). See if y’all can match their names (barracuda, pinfish, needlefish, ladyfish, seatrout, mangrove snapper, and sailcat) to the pictures below (which include both barracuda). I also got a nice redfish for my 8th species, but it was raining at the time so I left the camera in its dry bag. Anyone who gets all the species right will win a free trip on their Wavewalk.

  1. Proof you just need to know what you’re doing, and you don’t need a big expensive boat to catch fish.

  2. Of course the top 2 are the Barracuda, third is a lady fish,
forth is a mangrove snapper, fith is a needle fish, six is a pin fish,
seven is a sailcat, and last but least is your seatrout.

Yeah I get to go on a free trip in my wavewalk. 🙂

Great job, those barracudamust have been a Blast!

Tight lines and MoPaddle safe all.

  3. The barracuda were fun, Rox, but a bit on the small side. Hopefully, I’ll get their daddy next week. I really wish my 8th species was one of your smallmouth bass that I loved catching many years ago back in Wisconsin.

  4. OH I Do Love My Smallies, but that Spring run of Stripers in the Ct River
is calling me back for more……..

That Has to the most fun I’ve had fishing yet in my W500 kayak. 🙂

Tight Lines and Mopaddle Safe all.
