Thank You For a Great 2011, And a Happy 2012!
2011 was a great year, big time, and our best ever. It also brought some fundamental changes for us. This year, we started an experiment with local dealers and international distributors who are basically W fans with neither storefront nor prior … Continue reading

More People Still Fishing, by Gary Rankel, Florida…
I got together with Bob Smaldone and Dick Sherman for a day of fishing out of Ozello, Florida. Had a slow day but did manage 2 small reds. Here’s hoping that Santa brings everyone a new Wavewalk for Christmas, or … Continue reading

Some Folks Are Still Fishing Out Of Their Kayaks…
While temperatures up North are getting too low for kayak fishing, some people have no problem getting out there, and fishing out of their W kayaks. These people live in the warm South… and one of them is Jeff, who … Continue reading

The Hybrid Fishing Kayak – Facts, Hype and Plain Nonsense
Hybrid Kayak Defined The term ‘Hybrid Kayak’ is an abbreviation of ‘Hybrid Canoe-Kayak’. It’s a type of small, typically human powered watercraft that takes from the kayak in the sense that its passengers sit in it with their legs stretched … Continue reading

Maiden Offshore Voyage and Wheels For W500 Fishing Kayak – Ken From Katikati, New Zealand
I went out in the kayak for the first time this morning. The wind appeared to have eased off, so I went out from Beach Road at 8am. High tide was early this morning, so it wasn’t the best time to go, but I didn’t want to wait any longer to try it.
I ended up paddling in the sitting position, and felt quite happy with that, even though the wind got up and I ended up having to paddle into a 500mm chop and strong head wind..
I shall have to do some fine tuning in how I use it, but the bottom line is that I am thrilled with it, and it will get a lot more use than my [name brand sit-in kayak]. Continue reading
Kayak Ice Fishing (In a Way), And Last Tiger Muskie For The Season – By Gary Thorberg
The Wavewalk kayak can do many things, but breaking thick ice is not one of them. It is too light, and simply rides up on top of the ice. I stopped after a couple of feet, as this could put you in a dangerous position (not recommended).
I think that my lake kayaking is about over this year.
One final Tiger Muskie is a good way to close out the season! Continue reading

How can I complain, it’s December 6th, and I’m still fishing out of my yak, by Rox Davis
How can I complain, it’s December 6th, and I’m still fishing out of my yak, the W500.
Today I fished rainbow Reservoir. I left the motor home and paddled… halfway to my spot I was thinking… I’m an idiot, yep certifiable. The motor would have been soooooooo much quicker, and easier. Continue reading

Fishing Kayak Reviews
Not all reviews have value for prospective fishing kayak buyers. For a fishing kayak review to have any interest for you to read and consider, it should fulfill certain basic requirements that you should look for. 1. Credibility
You should never trust fishing kayak reviews posted by an anonymous person, under alias, a user ID, etc. That review may have been created and published by an individual who’s involved in a business relationship with certain fishing kayaks manufacturers, distributors, or retailers… The credibility criterion also goes directly to fishing kayak reviews written by fishing and paddling magazine staff writers. 2. Relevance
You should always ask yourself whether the review, or the perspective of the individual who wrote is of any relevance to you personally. Some fishing kayaks may get enthusiastic reviews by people who have fishing styles that are totally different from yours, and benefit from a physical condition and skills that are considerably different from yours… 3. Breadth and Depth
Preferably, the fishing kayak reviewer should have some prior experience in kayak fishing, so that some comparison with other fishing kayaks or other small watercraft is possible. However, there is also an interest in reviews by ‘first timers’, since such customers are less likely to be affected by their prior knowledge and personal experience, and could report their raw impression.
