Kevin Coughlin: Camouflaged Hunting Kayak, New York

Finally got around to taking some pics of how I decorate my "W" for duck season. I "grass" it out using natural materials such as palm leaves and natural grasses. I can carry a dozen or more of full body Herters Goose and duck decoys. At 59lbs it is a lot more convenient than my Barnegat Bay Sneakbox, and allows me to hide remarkably well. I also have sold my Bass Tracker Tournament Fishing Boat and use the "W" to do all my fishing now. I don't have the room I'm used to with the "W" but I find every trip more enjoyable with the "W" than the other boats I've had. It is a great addition to my hunting and fishing arsenal and allows me to get in places I couldn't with the bigger boats. Just Awesome.

    Kevin, what a fabulous job!
I can barely recognize the kayak I designed 😀

Thanks for your comparison with traditional hunting and fishing boats – It is heartwarming 🙂

An excellent idea for the boat and one that should work quite well. The W500 has plenty of stability for hard casting with a baitcast rig so for shooting there would no issue. The camo work done is fantastic and any ducks heading into the area commanded by the W are destined for the dinner table.

Those birds don’t stand a chance.

Great job with the camo job. 🙂

Tight lines and MoPaddle safe all.

Hunters are starting to realize the benefits of Wavewalk kayaks! Well done Kevin.
