Poling The W Kayak In The Tidal Flooded Grass, Fly Fishing For Redfish, By Kevin Eastman

As promised, here is the October flooded grass fishing report.
I ventured into some new areas this week and found some new hot spots that I’ve never seen anyone fishing in. Most likely because they can’t get to them.
This is probably the last flood tide of the season that the weather and water will still be warm. In November the water will cool off and the flooded grasses don’t have a lot of crabs left in them so the fishing slows a lot. Once again it’s great to pole the Wavewalk kayak around the shallow water while standing high on that platform. It’s a unique experience pushing your way through miles of areas that I usually have no access to other than during flood tides. Catching the fish is a bonus. Continue reading

Two Fishermen On Offshore Kayak Fishing Trip, South Korea

Sungjin took his motorized W500 fishing kayak, and together with Junior, went for a fishing trip in Incheon bay.
They fished mainly for octopus and cuttlefish, and had a lot of fun, including a traditional Korean meal served on the decks of their kayaks. Continue reading

Rox Test Drives Her 1.2hp Outboard Motorized Bass Fishing Kayak

Today was my maiden voyage in the W500 with my 1.2hp Gamefisher outboard motor.

It Was AWESOME, I had so much fun, the W500 handled like always – Stable, stable and yes Soooooooooo Stable. The motor made no difference in the balance, it was like the kayak was meant to be used with a gas outboard.
I was doing doughnuts, driving over my wakes, I felt like a Kid with a new Toy…………
I even stopped to fish a little, maybe 1/2 hour was spent on fishing.
All smallies came out of the channel in 10′ to 16′ of water. Rattle Trap was really the only lure I tried, time was short. Only 2 Smallies were picture worthy, lost a beast, and landed 6 that were cookie cutters, 13″. Continue reading

Kevin Coughlin: Camouflaged Hunting Kayak, New York

Finally got around to taking some pics of how I decorate my “W” for duck season. I “grass” it out using natural materials such as palm leaves and natural grasses. I can carry a dozen or more of full body Herters Goose and duck decoys. At 59lbs it is a lot more convenient than my Barnegat Bay Sneakbox, and allows me to hide remarkably well.
I also have sold my Bass Tracker Tournament Fishing Boat and use the “W” to do all my fishing now. I don’t have the room I’m used to with the “W” but I find every trip more enjoyable with the “W” than the other boats I’ve had. It is a great addition to my hunting and fishing arsenal and allows me to get in places I couldn’t with the bigger boats. Just Awesome.

Boyd and Sandy Autumn Kayaking In Southern Ontario’s Grand River. Canada

October is a beautiful month for kayaking.
Here in southern Ontario, the leaves are at their peak colours and the heavy rains have raised the river flow to provide some exciting white water opportunities.
The W500 is higher and drier than other kayaks.
