John King’s Full Review Of His Rigged Fishing Kayak, Ohio

I have kept the rigging so far to a minimum until I can spend more time experimenting to decide what is practical and most of all portable.
I plan on building some sort of bracket for a trolling motor for fishing on larger lakes. My kids bought a trolling motor for me on Father’s Day. I also have a wheel that I’m going to figure a way of using for portability. Dragging the W through the grass for a 100yds is a bit of a work out when your sixty something. But that is one of the reasons I decided to start this style of fishing especially when I discovered the W500. Get out and enjoy the thing I love most to do, fish with my sons and take in the beauty of this country that we live in.
My son had just taken first place in a kayak fishing tournament on the Ohio River, the day before this trip and we were both really enjoying the day. He currently uses a SOT kayak but I may be able to sway him over to the W500. I paddled past him a couple of times while standing up, and daring him to do the same. Continue reading

Danilo Russolillo, Offshore W Kayak Paddler and Angler, Rome, Italy

From the beautiful, sunny Mediterranean, Danilo wrote us:

Yesterday and today I tested the wavewalk.
I am happy with the W. It is very stable, I went far away from the beach, I enjoyed standing up, I think it’s going to be very important to people who own a Wavewalk, and also the ability to lie down and sunbathe.
It is fast like a normal kayak, and to me it is perfect.
I’m not a fisherman, but today I tried trolling. I hooked a big fish, but it broke the wire and ran away!

Kayak Paddling Trip Report From The Milwaukee River, WI

Jeanne and I woke up this morning and the sky was blue!
We had wanted to head down town and take a Milwaukee river tour with our Wavewalks for some time now. We took advantage of the nice morning and put our W’s in the truck and we were off. We ran into fellow kayakers and canoeists also taking advantage of the day.
Jeanne and I fielded many questions as usual about our Wavewalks – “those look comfortable” Yes they are, I responded. “must be heavy?” Nope, 59lbs.
Then I would stand up. “Wow, pretty stable huh? ” VERY stable. It was a great paddle and a fun tour of downtown Milwaukee. Showing other paddlers the advantages of our Wavewalks never get old.
