Saltwater Kayak Fishing Trip Report, Florida

I ran into a school of mackerel yesterday that are migrating through the area this time of year. They chewed up my lures and leaders pretty good until the dolphins showed up and started chewing up on them.

  1. Hey Gary, I hope you didn’t throw this one back into the water – Mackerel tastes really good, especially grilled

  2. I’m not a fish eater, Yoav, so they all go back. As long as they fight hard, that’s all I care about.

  3. Nice job, that so cool to have dolphins that close to your yak. 🙂

I get the way ward snapping turtle once in a while.

    Thanks for the great pictures.

Tight lines and Paddle safe all.

  4. Yeh, Rox…….the dolphins are fun to watch especially when they’re chasing a big school of prey. The bad news is once they show up, the fish disappear and I have to paddle my W to a new location. Have a great fishing year.
