Walk on Waves – New Website for W Kayaks Distributor in Norway and Sweden

Congratulations to Eric Overdijk, Wavewalk Kayaks’ distributor in Norway and Sweden, who launched his website, called Walk on Waves.
Eric lives in Rakkestad, southeast of Oslo, which is close to the Swedish border. This enables him to offer live demos to both Norwegian and Swedish paddlers and anglers, who are looking for a kayak that makes sense.
Eric is an avid kayaker and angler, who spends every free moment he has fishing, paddling and camping. He became interested in Wavewalk kayaks after having realized that paddling regular old fashion kayaks was just too uncomfortable for him, and made him think mostly of his back pain, and want to get out of his kayak and stretch, rather than enjoy the trip. How to Keep Your W500 Fishing Kayak Cockpit Dry

Typically, very little water can get inside your W500 cockpit, because the kayak offers a high freeboard – more than any kayak does. This is true even when you’re launching in the surf, because you can lift the bow by sitting in the back of the cockpit, and thus go over the incoming waves, instead of through them, like you’d have to do with all other kayaks. Paddling the W500 in Tandem: Kayak Review by Ann, North Carolina

My husband is unable to paddle due to many disabilities. However, I have 2 paddles and when he is along and we want to turn, I holler rudder right or rudder left and he puts his paddle straight down and we can turn “on a dime”.
I enjoy his company and sure, it is extra weight, but I do not feel unstable.
I am getting a little extra workout but that is a benefit in my opinion. I also have the joy of sharing the beautiful environment with the guy I love most and that means so much.

As for tandem kayaking, it depends on where you are. On the intracoastal in a mild wind, 8 mph, my friend and I do not need any experience except more muscle in our forearms. The W is very stable and everyone who has been in my W has enjoyed it immensely.

Almost 70, Continue reading

Wavewalk Fishing Kayaks Blog – Three Years Already

The kayak fishing media does not enjoy the reputation that could give it the power to influence customers. This is because the customers no longer depend on a single, or a few media outlets, which was the typical situation a few decades ago. In some way, this blog itself is an online kayak fishing magazine, with one advantage, which is its unique content.
We are not afraid to tackle the big issues in kayak fishing and paddling, because our kayaks in fact offer to solve them. Continue reading
