Thank You For a Wonderful 2010, and Happy New Year 2011
To all our clients, supporters, fans, dealers and friends, thank you for a wonderful year 2010, and we wish you a Happy New Year 2011.
Thank you for sharing your insight, advice, comments, stories, reviews, pictures and videos, as well as for offering technical information on your kayak outfitting and rigging projects.
Thanks to those of you who offer to help new W kayakers and kayak anglers.
Thank you for supporting us on some online discussion forums, where our competitors keep posting comments about the W kayak in the typical format: -”I’ve never used or seen a Wavewalk kayak, but it looks like [some kind of negative nonsense] …” , or -”I’ve heard people say about the Wavewalk kayak that [some other negative nonsense].
When you stumble upon such dumb and ill-intentioned comments, please take it easy, and try not to get upset – The people who post them are attempting to promote other kayak brands they’re affiliated with, and that’s not easy…
Thank you for making us feel we’re doing something special and meaningful, and for constantly reminding us that we’re actually helping people have a better and nicer life.
Our website wavewalk.com got over 180,000 unique visitors this year, a considerable increase compared to 2009. Thank you for making this website more interesting and vibrant! ![]()
Happy New Year 2011!

How Bob Convinced Gary R to Take His Fly Rod Out of Mothballs – A Kayak Fishing Report
Bob Smaldone joined me for a day of fishing on Kings Bay yesterday. He spends about 90% of his time flyfishing while standing in his W, and outfished me 10 to 1 doing so. He convinced me to get my flyrod out of mothballs and find a good source of Clauser Minnows. Continue reading
Gary Rankel Enjoying Florida’s Wildlife From His Fishing Kayak’s Cockpit
I thought I’d send a few snaps of our Florida scenery and wildlife that I took in a protected cove after getting blown off Kings Bay yesterday before even wetting a line. The shots show the Wavewalk (1) rigged prior to launching, (2) in choppy water, and (3) returning to the protected launch site.
The wildlife shots show nice closeups of an osprey, great white egret and two cormorants on a sign.
There’s also a shot of a diver with a manatee,
Not a bad day on the water, even without catching a fish. Continue reading

Article About the W Kayak in De Telegraaf – Holland’s Biggest Newspaper
Robert did the impossible, and got De Telegraaf, the biggest newspaper in the Netherlands, to publish an article about the W kayak: http://telegraaf-i.telegraaf.nl/telegraaf/_main_/2010/12/18/211/ Robert is the founder of Catamayak, who sells W kayaks in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Northwestern Germany Continue reading
Gary Johnson’s Kayak Kart, Texas
This is the Kayak Kart. The part with the black foam is obviously the top.
The W500 goes through the square opening and the Top stops just as it gets to the cockpit and is attached there. The wheel part slants forward and stops approx just under the cockpit side of the handles and is secured there.
The W500 is then PULLED to where you want it. If you desire to PUSH the kayak, the top is secured to the handles and the wheels go back towards the cockpit and are secured there. Continue reading
