Although I release most everything I catch, I sometimes deep hook a fish that might not survive if released. Bringing the fish home to clean and eat is a problem with a wife who doesn’t want fish guts in the garbage or anywhere else that she can see or smell them. So I found a light plastic fillet board that fits across the two hulls and is easily secured with bungee cords that are already in place on the W kayak (what would we do without bungee cords). The square holes on the board keep the fish from sliding, making filleting a breeze, and there’s plenty of critters around to quickly clean up the scraps, thereby keeping my wife smiling.

Thats a very neat idea Gary.
Just make sure to soak that board in bleach, and rinse well, this way no
germs stay embedded in the cutting board.

Thanks, Rox. I do that, if for no other reason, to keep my wife happy (she can smell fish remains better than a racoon).
In my mind fish is food, and I just can’t imagine catching fish without what comes after…
