Just heard that the spill is about ready to wash up on a wildlife refuge area in LA, and will probably get to Mobile in a day or two. Doesn't look good for fish, birds, marshes. Looks like the counter clockwise Gulf current may keep the spill west of us and the Tampa area, but this leak could go on for months the oil could make its way down to the Everglades and then up the Atlantic Coast. I sure hope they can cap it quick. I bet you'll hear no more about new drilling in the Gulf. I never thought manatees were very smart but hopefully they’ll avoid the oil. Two years ago one stole my net and it was not found for four months. I suspect the oil spill won't bother them too much, they should be able to avoid it.
