Brent,

At 250 lb load the W500 offers about a foot of freeboard.
The W500 has a recommended maximal load capacity of 360 lbs, but that doesn't necessarily mean we'd recommend it for you if you weigh much more than 250 lbs.

Please feel free to call or email me for consultation.

I am concerned about driving the hull under water when paddling at high speeds,,,as I weigh in excess of 250 lbs. would the 500 be the prefered hull length for my requirements?

Hey Ken sounds like you are having some fun with that new W500. Of course your wife will outfish you, happens all the time here in Florida. Some of the lades can't understand why we fish all day when they can load the boat in under an hour. Men might have the fishing gene but women have the catching gene.

Thanks Ken,

Harry Smallwood, from Nevada, attached his W300 to the back of his RV, see: http://wavewalk.com/Fishing_kayak_review_Nevada.html
BTW, your W500 is a foot longer than Harry's W300, so it might not be safe for you to try this, in case you're driving below low bridges...
