Rox,
Sorry, I missed seeing these pictures. I’m starting to understand what you did. Where did you get the rod holder and does it come with the clamp?
Thanks,
Jack
I plan on using my Fishin Buddy II on the W500. There are several methods to mount it as it comes with a detachable bracket. The transducer is integral to the FB II. Yoav doesn’t want to hear of the second way to mount it!!
Has anyone come up with a type of glue that holds to the molded polyethylene plastic?? I was wondering if something like Shoe-goo (crystal clear but flexible) shoe adhesive. It sticks my shoe soles together even if one surface is dirty and it surely sticks to the rubber sole. Wonder if clear caulk might work?? I worry if boat numbers will stick. What kind of paint do you use when doing camo on the kayaks??
Hi Gary,
Numbers could stay for quite a while, because they have a big surface by volume and weight, there’s very little pull on them.
You can try Goop, or this adhesive: http://wavewalk.com/blog/2008/04/22/3m-4693-scotch-grip-tm-h-plastic-adhesive-good-for-use-in-polyethylene-kayaks/ , and your shoe glue may work as well.
The only thing to remember is “Don’t trust Polyethylene for adhering to anything fro long!” because this material has such a low surface tension.

The alternative for the numbers is what I had to do with my inflatable FoldCat – mount them on plexiglas and hang them on the side. Texas Park and Wildlife approves of this when letters will not stick. As for glue, I was wondering about it for mounting transducers for depth finder.

Interesting post! I have tried to search on how to set up Fish-Finder Transducer Mount and Rod Holder. Great thing I found this post.
