Record Number of Visitors to Wavewalk Kayak’s Website
Yesterday our website had 645 visitors, and it’s the most we’ve had this year.
The all time record was back in August 2004, after the New York Times had published an article about our first invention: shoes for walking on water (US utility patent number 6,764,363).
We chose to commercialize our second, boat invention, in the form of the W-kayak product line, and it looks like we’re on the right track.

I saw the video of that guy walking on water, and I thought it was pretty cool. Why didn’t you guys come up with a commercial product that people could buy?

You couldn’t take a nap standing in those shoes, that why!

We thought the small-boat invention had a broader, well established, more tangible and immediate market, while the water-walking shoes product was more of a long shot at undefined target.
There were also technical considerations: In order to work properly the shoes’ buoyancy (I.E. size) is required to match the user’s weight, and that would have required offering the same product in a range of sizes, and a much bigger investment in manufacturing.

You know Yoav my size 15 feet are almost big enough for walking on water. But with the load of tackle I carry it would not have worked. The W is a much better solution and now offers the option of nap time.
