Roxanne’s Motorized W Fishing Kayak - Movie
Here’s a movie that Roxanne Davis sent us from Connecticut. Rox shot it from the cockpit of her W-kayak that she rigged with an electric trolling motor and foot-activated steering system:
Isn’t it amazing?
And here is the full story about Rox and her Electric W Kayak Fishing Machine
This rigging job is a marvel, and Rox has some interesting tips to share on how to work with a motorized W fishing kayak: It’s no longer just about trolling - it’s actual combat technique.

I read the review and I can see Rambo driving that thing in the jungle somewhere.
Pulling the fish out to the open water with motor in reverse - that’s some escalation in the fighting
Great job on that boat!

I enjoyed reading the story. Nice fishing machine!
I guess the next step in 21st century kayak fishing could be to outfit your reel with an electric motor hooked to the motor’s battery, and yank the fish out of the water just by pushing a button

You definitely got something there! They’d call it “electric fishing”. Sounds like fun
Great rigging on that boat, btw

Thanks for sharing this incredible setup Rox. Seems to have plenty of thrust. How does it perform in the wake with strong current.
I have spent considerable time molding up my own outriggers as I expected any commercially available would be very expensive. Care to share your source.

Very nice job on this Rox. The W lends itself to many innovations just not available in more conventional boats. Using the W as a base any number of ideas come to mind. You’ve created a wonderful electric fishing craft that should be able to go just about anywhere, especially where the big boats can’t. Good fishing, they are out there waiting for you.

JJPLIN, it takes the wakes like a Champ, in fact I had a boat send some good wakes my way, and I turned side ways for a full impact.
It was awesome, and fun, no worries about flipping at all, and Like always,
a Nice Dry Ride.
If I was in a SIT, I would have been swamped, SOT, soaked.
On the boats return, and next wake, I turned the yak and rode with the Wakes………..That Was a Blast!!!
And in Strong current she handles like a Dream.
Of course, you need to have common sense, and not put yourself in Harms way.
If you have to ask yourself if something is safe….most likely…it’s not!
My outrigger are from Spring Creek, but many stores carry them now, Cabela’s, Bass Pro.
I found mine used, but I would have paid full price for them.
The ease putting them in place and removing them is a Breeze.
Plus, they are a bonus rod holder, with a simple Larger then Normal Quick Clip for support in the rear, and a trusty bungee cord for Mr Murphy!
Like I had said, the outriggers never touch the water, except for when a Large wake come’s my way!
I Love My WW, being Physically challenged, the Wave Walk yak is a Dream come true, and has helped in giving me Back My Life.
Thank you again Yoav, for creating this wonderful Fishing machine!!
