Recent drops in fuel prices make it easier for the trucking companies, and eventually they trickle down to us.
Wavewalk has lowered its shipping prices for its kayaks twice in recent weeks for all continental US destinations and Hawaii.
These are the new prices for shipping a single kayak to your home address, effective today:
Northeast: $165, Midwest: $175, Southeast: $175,
North Central: $195, South Central: $195, Northwest: $225,
Southwest: $225, Hawaii: $455

Thank you wavewalk
It’s about time
Mike
Obviously it has to do with oil price going down. Do you expect this to affect plastic prices and through that the prices of Wavewalks?
It’s too early to tell at this point.
It took Polyethylene resins prices much longer to increase than fuel prices did, and I suppose that if resins’ prices decrease it would take a long time as well.
We’ll keep a watchful eye, and use every opportunity to lower our prices. Let’s hope we can.

By how much could it change the price of a wavewalk?
The cost of PE resin isn’t a major factor in the pricing of high end products like fishing and touring kayaks to begin with, especially in our W-kayaks, which are difficult to mold.
If we’re lucky I guess we could lower our kayak prices by up to 5% but I don’t see this happening anytime before spring – assuming oil prices stay low and resin producers try to be nice and fair, of course.
