The hole came with the boat, and it’s there exactly for this purpose: Enable the kayak fisherman to easily attach his tackle and gear to the kayak.

    Mike, it’s really useful to have those holes there and be able to use them to attach stuff you don’t want to lose. And it’s also nice to be able to add more attachment points easily, just by drilling more holes!

    Sure, plus the holes help drain water out quickly when you take the W yak out and overturn it, and that’s something that tie-downs can’t do :D
