This is amazing! Sardine
Is there a spray deck available for these boats?
Usually, when you launch a W kayak in big surf, you do it sitting in the back of the cockpit. This raises the bow, and enables you to go on top of the waves, instead of going through them, like you’d have to do if you were launching a sit-in or SOT kayak.
This in itself would keep you pretty dry, even in 4-5 ft surf.
Alos, all W500 models except the R feature a preparation for a cockpit cover:
You simply cover any part of the cockpit you want with waterproof fabric, or even a plastic sheet, and it prevents rain and spray from getting into the cockpit. It can also protect you from the wind.
It takes a few seconds the install or remove, and it won’t entrap you like a traditional kayak spray skirt might do.
